birthday month

November is our birthday month. Our birthdays are only a week and a half apart, which means.....lots of celebrating!

This is what it looked like:
my DAD sent me beautiful flowers! I almost cried. I mean, you expect flowers from your husband, but not your dad! Such a wonderful surprise!

the awesome COAT Dane picked out for me at Old Navy! So sweet :) also the only present we have pictures of...
Dane's boss gave us tickets to the Jazz game! it was the first time either of us had been...too bad they LOST!  still awesome though.

terrible picture, but my parents took us to Cafe Sabor for dinner.  we shared the birthday sombrero :)
another one of Dane's presents to me...he got a hair cut! haha, he needed it. badly. he used to let me cut his hair, but said it wasn't good for our marriage after I took almost 2 hrs to do it last time. it takes practice, right?? Oh well, he's lookin good now!
Dane opening his presents!
awesome new flat cap! he's been into them ever since England. I have to admit....I love them also.

trying to eat the mt. dew shirt, like a dork.

the jacket my parents gave him

the beautiful b-day cake I made today! haha, ok....maybe not so beautiful. but DELICIOUS.

the awesome Betty enjoying cake with us. best. picture. ever.
oh yes, and my favorite salad in the WORLD at cafe rio!! a little taste of heaven.  (sorry about the gross phone pictures)
Life is great. Happy birthday to US! :)

10 points for effort...?

I have a problem.

Actually, two of them. They are called  Popcorn and CEREAL!!!

I LOVE them. Too much. I am a happy girl when I can eat cereal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and popcorn for dessert. (Although I have to admit it gets old after a few days....)

I used to ask for cereal for my birthday when I was younger. Not because we never had it, just because I loved it so much.

So, I get in the habit sometimes of eating cereal all the time. I'll eat it for meals, in between meals, and especially for a late night snack. I decided this needed to stop. So, logically, I stopped buying milk! That's bound to stop me....right?

Wrong. This is what I resorted to:

Muddy buddies are delicious! I even started just melting chocolate in bowl and pouring chex over it. Yum, yum, yum!!

After doing this a few nights in a row...I realized it was probably better just to buy milk again. I just have to have my late night study snacks! It could be worse. :)

At least I tried....right?

My Entertainment

I used to think blogs were only for people who had kids. Let's face it, kids make everything entertaining! Who would want to read a blog about boring people without kids??
(You can see why I usually stalk people's blogs...:)

But, then I had a realization. My husband basically is a kid! Haha, maybe not. But he certainly keeps me entertained.

Our conversation today, when I was super bummed we couldn't go to St. George with my family:

Dane: Don't worry, I hear St. George is for fart-heads anyways.
Me: No, you didn't. Don't lie.
Dane: Yes, I kind of did!
Me: Where did you hear that??
Dane: In my head.
Me: That doesn't count!!
Dane: It totally counts! Your head doesn't count!
Me: Rude.

Sound like a conversation you had with your brother when you were 10? Yep. Me too. Except I think Josh was even more sophisticated than that.....

How embarrassing.
